Requıred Materials

Skill Level: Intermediate

All yarn is worsted weight (4). I use Brava Worsted Weight from Knit Picks, but any acrylic worsted

yarn will work.

-White: 150 yards

-Denim Blue: 80 yards

-Yellow: 100 yards

-Black/Brown/Grey/Light Blue/Pink/Maroon: Less than 80 yards

Hooks: 4.5 & 4.0 mm

*Darning needle

*Polyester stuffing

*Scissors

*Two small white buttons (1/2”-5/8”)

*Wiring/Pipe Cleaners for Pitchfork OPTIONAL: Wooden dowel to insert into head for neck support

*Two black safety eyes (9-12mm)

*White felt

Gauge: Not needed. Depending on tension and yarn used, doll works up to approximately

13-15 inches in height.

sc – single crochet

Notes Abaout Pattern:

Yarn over again and draw through. There will be three loops on the hook. Repeat 3 more times. Each

time adds 2 more loops to the hook. Yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.

• For my dolls, I used a tiny circle cutout of white foam sheet or white felt as backing behind the safety

eyes. You can opt for no “white back” or embroider it along the outside of the eye with white yarn.

• Total number of stitches in round will be listed at the end of the round instructions in brackets

• You can use Magic Circle in place of “Ch2, Xsc in 2

nd ch from hook”

• DO NOT OVERSTUFF unless specifically indicated in the pattern

Overalls:

4.5mm hook/Light Blue yarn/Joined rounds

Note: 1st stitch in rounds are worked in same stitch as slst. Create one pant leg (Rnd 1-16), fasten off

and set aside. After creating second pant leg, join onto 1st leg by slst and ch1. This will mark the

beginning of Rnd 17.

Rnd 1: Ch26, slst into 1st ch to form a circle and ch1. Begin working in same stitch, and 26sc around

(26) slst in next st, ch1

Rnd 2-3: sc in each st around (26) slst in next st, ch1

Rnd 4: Working in FLO: sc in each st around (26) slst in next st, ch1

unworked, join onto 2nd leg (3 sts back from end of Rnd 16) with 1sc and

continue to sc in the next 23 sts of 2nd leg. Leaving 2 stitches unworked on

2nd leg, join back onto 1st st in Rnd 17 (1st leg) to join round and ch1 (48)

Rnd 18-25:sc in each st around (48) slst in next st, ch1

Rnd 26: sc in each st around (48) slst to join round, FO and weave in

remaining tail. Fold bottom of pant leg up at Rnd 4 (at the BLO crease).

Front Overall Flap:

4.5mm hook/Denim Blue yarn/Rows

Note: Flatten overalls, and seam from joining rounds will act as the back. On the front, locate the

middle 12sts (approximately 6sts from the right side). Join on the 6/7th st and begin working in rows.

Row 1: 12sc across (12) ch1 & turn

Row 2-9:12 sc across (12) ch1 & turn, except on Row 9, where you will turn, and sc down the side of

the flap, around the top of Rnd 26 of overalls until you reach the beginning of Row 1 of flap. Sc up

the side of flap until you reach the beginning of Row 9. FO and weave in remaining tail.

Overall Straps:

4.5mm hook/Denim Blue yarn/Rows (Make 2)

Ch27, staring in 2nd ch, 26hdc across (26) FO, leaving a 3-4 inch tail for

sewing.

Sew one ends of straps 3-4 sts apart on the center back of overalls. Crisscross the straps and guide overtop each shoulders and sew other ends of

straps to top corner of each flap. Once straps are secured, sew buttons on

top of each strap, through strap and overall flap.

Overall Pocket:

4.0mm hook/Light Blue yarn/Rows

Row 1: Ch8, starting in 2nd ch from hook, 7sc across (7) ch1 & turn

Row 2-5:sc across (7) ch1 & turn

Row 6: 1sc, 1hdc, skip 1 st and 2dc in next st, ch1 and sc in front post of last

dc, 1dc in same st. Skip 1 st, 1hdc in next st, 1sc (7 + 1sc in front post)

Turn pocket and continue to sc along the next 3 sides of pocket until you

reach the beginning of Row 6. FO, leaving a 6-8 inch tail for sewing. Center

pocket on the front flap, Row 1 at the top. Sew along the sides of pocket

and Row 6 (bottom), leaving the top/Row 1 open.

Tail:

4.0mm hook/White yarn/Continuous rounds

Rnd 1: Ch2, 5sc in 2nd ch from hook (5)

Rnd 2-12: sc in each st around (5)

After Rnd 12, FO and weave in remaining tail. Cut five 3inch strands of black

yarn and weave in strands into each st of Rnd 12 of tail. Attach tail to back

side of Rnd 24/25 of Overalls by sewing through Rnd 1 of tail through both

overalls and body to fasten into place.

Neck Scarf:

4.5mm hook/Maroon yarn/Rows

Row 1: Ch2, 2sc in 2nd ch from hook (2) ch1 & turn

Row 2: (2sc in next st) x2 (4) ch1 & turn

Row 3: 2sc in next st, 2sc, 2sc in next st (6) ch1 & turn

Using white thread/yarn, embroider lines based on picture below on scarf to resemble a “plaid” effect.

Tie scarf around neck.

Bale Of Hay:

4.5mm hook/Yellow yarn/Rows

Row 1: Ch 23, starting in 2nd ch from hook, 22sc across, ch 1 & turn (22)

Row 2: Working in FLO- 22sc across, ch1 & turn (22)

Row 3: Working in BLO- 22sc across, ch1 & turn (22)

Ends of Bale:

Join a new strand of yellow yarn at the start of Row 31. You will be working in rows along the edge of

Row 31-40.

Row 1-11:11sc across, ch1 & turn (11) Do not ch1 at the end of Row11, instead, slst around the 4 edges,

ch1 at each corner, creating a cube shape at the end. Repeat Rows 1-11 at other end of bale. Before

closing end off completely lightly stuff bale.

Bale Strings:

4.5mm hook/Brown yarn (Make 2)

Ch 38, FO. Wrap around each end of bale and tie off.

Pitchfork:

4.0mm hook used for all pitchfork pieces

Note: Pitch Fork is comprised of 3 separate pieces. Make the middle prong first, which will be worked

into Rnd 13 of outside prong. After prongs have been completed, make the handle which will be sewn

onto center of the big prong (directly below the middle prong).

Middle Prong:

Working with Grey yarn in continuous rounds

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook (6)

Rnd 2-8: sc in each st around (6) FO after Rnd 8, weave in tail.

Main Outside Prongs:

Working with Grey yarn in continuous rounds

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook (6)

Rnd 2-12: sc in each st around (6)

Rnd 13: Take the end of the middle prong and work through both sides of Rnd 8 and the previous

rounds stitches for the 1st 3 stitches, continue to sc in the remaining 3 stitches of the round (6)

Rnd 14-25: sc in each st around (6) Insert wiring or pipe cleaner into open end and have it run the

entire length of the Main Outside Prong. FO, use remaining tail to sew close

any gap at end. Bend each end of Prong in a “U” shape.

Handle:

Working in Brown yarn in continuous rounds

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook (6)

Rnd 2-28: sc in each st around (6)

*Switch to Grey yarn*

Rnd 29: slst in each st around (6)

Rnd 30:Working in BLO of slst – sc in each st around (6)

Rnd 31: Working in BOTH loops – sc in each st around (6) FO, leaving a 6-8

inch tail for sewing. Insert wiring into open end of handle, and have it run

the entire length of handle for extra support. Place open end of handle (Rnd

31) directly below the middle prong. Sew along Rnd 31 of handle into the

bottom of the Main Outside Prong to secure into place.
